Synopsis
Cuba, 1932: A plot to overthrow the government of Gerardo Machado is led by a group of assorted revolutionaries, spurred on by China Valdés, a young woman who works in an American bank in Havana, to avenge the murder of her activist brother Manolo - a murder she witnessed - at the hands of the government. Based loosely on an episode in Robert Sylvester's novel Rough Sketch, it draws on historical events.
