Synopsis
Old Count Korneev invites some friends to his dilapidated estate, including a retired magistrate, the count's steward and his brother-in-law. The intrusion of Olenka, daughter of a forester, will disrupt the party. Born into a poor family, she must marry a rich man to escape her fate. Three men fight for her heart. Who could have known that all of this would end in tragedy?
