Synopsis
On August 6, 1945, a heat wave weighed on Hiroshima. Suddenly, a blinding flash sets the whole region ablaze, and a devastating blast destroys the city in a few moments: the first atomic bomb in history has just exploded on the Japanese archipelago. Yasuko, aboard a ferry en route to her uncle Shigematsu's residence, receives the radioactive "black rain" along with the other passengers. Five years later, Yasuko is of marriageable age, but rumor has it that she was at the scene of the tragedy after the explosion.
