Synopsis
- The Decameron (1971):
The Decameron, written by Boccaccio between 1348 and 1358, contains a hundred stories that are told in ten days of the lords of Florence kept away from the city because of the plague epidemic. Of all these stories, Pasolini will remember ten that he will link by bringing back here and there two or three characters, in particular that of Giotto (to whom he lends his features) who came to Naples to create a series of frescoes.

- The Canterbury Tales (1972):
In medieval England, a writer (Chaucer - played by Pasolini) witnesses the telling of a series of funny and erotic stories told, in an inn, by pilgrims who have come in droves to Canterbury Cathedral. He rejoices in what he sees and hears, takes notes and lets his imagination run wild.

- One Thousand and One Nights (1974):
In the well-known atmosphere of the nested tales of the Eastern tradition, this film recounts a series of amorous adventures that the characters experience between dream and reality. The framework of the fifteen stories that make up the film is woven by the adventures of the young Nur-Ed-Din who is looking for his companion Zumurrud from whom he finds himself cruelly separated.
