Synopsis
Shot in January-February 2020 in the United States, with a reduced team, Michael Cimino, an American mirage is a real documentary road movie. From Hollywood to New York, crossing mythical places and iconic landscapes, Jean-Baptiste Thoret meets colorful characters and film figures to evoke Michael Cimino, his films, his America. Like John Ford before, Michael Cimino was able to tell his own myth of America and print a legend that was just as emblematic, but more critical of his country's society and history. Beginning of the immersion trip in the community of Mingo Junction (Ohio), to meet the population and extras from the time of the filming of Journey to the End of Hell. End of the trip to New York, in the Chinatown of The Year of the Dragon, with Stanley White, the real policeman who inspired the character of Mickey Rourke.
