Synopsis
Sent by his newspaper to a small town in Bavaria, Albin Mercier sympathizes as soon as he arrives with his neighbors, Andreas and Hélène Hartmann. The Hartmanns give off such an image of happiness that a mad desire seizes Albin: from now on, his only goal is to take Andreas's place, no matter how difficult the task.
