Synopsis
The America of the 1950s. Solitary and obese, nurse Martha Beck literally falls into the arms of Raymond Fernandez, a gigolo doubled as a crook. If they marry, they are careful not to reveal it, presenting themselves as brother and sister to the lonely widows and spinsters they select in the classifieds. Their plan is simple: strip their prey and permanently silence them. Motivated by the sole objective of also making a place for themselves in the sun, Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez criss-cross the United States to better slip through the meshes of the nets stretched by the police.
