Synopsis
England at the end of the 16th century. Covered in glory for defeating the Irish, Walter Raleigh seeks to charter a fleet of three ships to the New World. If Queen Elisabeth does not supply his request, she shows herself to be so well disposed towards him that she appoints him captain of the guards, an honor which only fuels the hatred of certain members of his court. One of them, the most violently jealous of all, informs the sovereign that Raleigh is harboring an Irishman in his garrison who is about to attack her. Although his plan fails, another pretext soon presents itself to him.
