Jean Streff is an essayist, novelist, screenwriter, director. His literary work is mainly oriented towards the study of paraphilic sexual practices such as fetishism, sadomasochism and BDSM. In 2005, he won the Sade Prize for his Treatise on Fetishism for the Use of Young Generations, published by Denoël. He is currently the Secretary General of the Prize. Translated into Japanese with more than a thousand illustrations, his essay was a huge success in the land of the Rising Sun. In 2006, he was invited by the Center Pompidou to participate in the symposium: "Hans Bellmer. Anatomy of Desire", during the retrospective dedicated to the artist. In 2013, he participated in the Liberation Forum of Montpellier: "Sex, what a machine!". Several of his novels have recently been republished by La Musardine in the "Love Readings" collection, initiated by Jean-Jacques Pauvert. Jean Streff won the Grand Prize for Screenplay at the Avoriaz International Fantastic Film Festival for The Last Heroine. Since 2015, he has written a column entitled "This object of desire" in the cultural magazine NOTO.
