Synopsis
In the heart of the rocky and desolate mountains of Sardinia, Michele watches over his herd of sheep with his younger brother Giuseppe. One day, three strangers arrive in his sheepfold, wanted by the carabinieri for stealing pigs. Michele will find herself wrongly accused of the theft and then of the murder of one of the gendarmes perpetrated by one of the thugs. To escape prison, the shepherd decides to flee into the mountains with his brother and his animals.
