Organizer of fairground shows, Antonio discovers in a hospital Maria, a young woman covered with hair. Maria falls in love with Antonio, who marries her more for the profit he can make than out of love. He quickly made his livelihood out of it by exhibiting it at fairs, presenting it as “the monkey-woman”.
