Synopsis
Returning from a stay in Africa, the Markham brothers settled on the outskirts of London. One of the two, Edward, half-mad and disfigured by African sorcerers, remains locked up in his house. To deliver him, Trench, the family lawyer, develops a scheme: drug Edward in order to make him pass for dead, and come and exhume him after his burial.
