Synopsis
1940. Driven by the mechanic Pelletier, a last train takes away, through the bombardments, the families fleeing the North of France... A young woman is killed and leaves by her side a young child, Norma, whom Pelletier will adopt and send to foster care with her 5-year-old son. The years go by. The two young people come to live with their father and discover his life as a railway worker, which leaves no room for anyone but his steam locomotive.
