Synopsis
A young country priest, Serge Mouret lives in the obsession of bringing his parishioners back to the right path as soon as they deviate from it. A constant, exhausting fight, which the rigidity and fanaticism of Brother Archangias make even more trying than it should be. At the end, Mouret collapses at the foot of a statue of the Virgin Mary. When he wakes up, he is cared for by Albine, a beautiful young woman. Amnesic, unaware of who he is, Mouret falls in love with him, then succumbs to desire.
