Synopsis
It was in the rain, in an Italian cemetery, that Hollywood director Harry Dawes attended the funeral of Countess Torlato-Favrini. He remembers his first meeting with the deceased. She was not yet a countess, nor a movie star, just Maria Vargas, a bewitching and wild dancer from a Madrid cabaret.
