Synopsis
The recruiting sergeant "La franchise" criss-crossed Normandy accompanied by his daughter, the beautiful Adeline, in order to recruit new soldiers ready to go and die on the battlefields of King Louis XV. The task proving more and more difficult, this tout had developed a fine stratagem. Adeline, disguised as a gypsy, stopped the boys with a smile and read an incredible destiny in their hands: they would be the best soldiers in the kingdom and would marry one of the king's daughters. Fanfan la Tulipe, a young village rooster, passed by.
