Synopsis
A young and brilliant surgeon, Treves, encounters in a Victorian circus show a man so hideously deformed that he is condemned to live the degrading life of a fairground freak. This is John Merrick, known to circus audiences nationwide as "The Elephant Man." Although Merrick cannot be cured, Treves fights to deliver him from the misery of his environment, and to give him a dignified and comfortable life.
