Synopsis
London, May 1971. David Hockney is in the midst of a crisis, deeply affected by his breakup with Peter Schlesinger, his model and lover, who has just left him. His work is turned upside down. However, he had to finish Portrait of an Artist for an exhibition to be held in New York the following year. In the midst of a struggle with his art and with himself, he goes from intense work sessions to long wanderings with his friends, plagued by doubt, unable to find his definitive form on the painting, which he ends up abandoning. before returning six months later.
