Synopsis
1969: An airliner lands on the emergency runway of a dusty Western Australian town. Billy Cross, a world-renowned genius trumpeter, takes the opportunity to offer an impromptu concert to the local population. John, nicknamed Goofy, sees his life change. 20 years later, he lives off odd jobs while waiting to be noticed for his music. But it's hard for an artist to have a career in the middle of nowhere.

Third film by Rolf de Heer, before the controversial Bad Boy Bubby , DINGO is an adventure both solar and intimate on the necessity of the creative act and the pursuit of devouring passions. Going from the wonderful landscapes of the Australian bush to Parisian jazz clubs, DINGO offers Miles Davis his only major role in the cinema, and allows him to reconnect with Michel Legrand, who co-composed the soundtrack. An optimistic and original work that combines the talents of Colin Friels ( Darkman , Dark City ), Helen Buday ( Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome ), Bernadette Lafont ( The Mother and the Whore ) and Bernard Fresson ( Z , The Tenant ).
