Synopsis
- The Burning Buddha Man (2013):
As Buddha statues are stolen in Kyoto, young Beniko discovers that her parents have been murdered. She then engages in a nightmarish spiral... Ujicha recounts incredible adventures whose imagination is as perched as it is unlimited. His animation technique based on cut-out paper allows all the most grotesque and monstrous overflows, the most disconcerting and jubilant. "There are a lot of strange things happening in the world", we are warned: Burning Buddha Man illustrates this perfectly!
- Violence Voyager (2018):
Two friends discover an amusement park that seems abandoned. This one holds dark secrets… The filmmaker perfects his unique style with this new bad dream. Horror takes on a very particular dimension because it has something strangely childish about it, shrouded in a nostalgic radiance. By borrowing as much from vintage video game cinematics as from a ramshackle tale that we would never have been told, Violence Voyager is unlike anything known.
