Synopsis
1828. The Pyncheon family is ruined. One of the heirs, Clifford, is thinking of selling the superb family home, which seems to have a curse hanging over it, and moving in with his cousin Hepzibah. But his brother Jaffrey opposes it: he manages to accuse Clifford of murder and to have him thrown in prison.
