Synopsis
Sudan, 1883. A regiment of 10,000 men is massacred by the army of the Muslim leader El Mahdi. In London, the Prime Minister sends General Gordon to Khartoum to ensure the protection of British and Egyptian nationals still there. El Mahdi gathers nearly 100,000 men around the city.
