Synopsis
In his youth, Etienne Ranson left his family for Tunisia, where he made his fortune thanks to a salt mine. But his methods are questionable: when he has just sold his business, a riot among his workers breaks out, which he puts down with bloodshed. Thus, when he returns to Grenoble with his family of industrialists, he is as rich as he is dishonored. The reception is cold. But Ranson has a lot of money and his uncle is running out.
