Synopsis
On the night of May 16, 1925, one of the Louvre guards was found dying in the Hall of the Barbarian Gods near the statue of Belphegor and claimed to have seen a ghost. Inspector Ménardier is in charge of the investigation but the young successful journalist Jacques Bellegarde has also taken it into his head to elucidate the mystery. The famous private detective Chantecoq also sets out on the trail of the ghost.
