Synopsis
Antonio Magnano, after a three-year stay in Rome, returns to his native village of Catania where he marries Barbara, the daughter of a wealthy notary. A year later, Barbara's father asks for the marriage to be annulled, dishonoring the Magnano family. Indeed, the union between Antonio and his wife would not have been consummated.
