Synopsis
In the year 786, when the Vikings invade England, King Harald wishes to make a pact with the British. But he is betrayed by the English Baron Rutford, who covets the throne of England held by King Lothar and his wife Alice. Harald is cowardly murdered, leaving his two young sons at the scene of the battle. The eldest, Iron, is rescued by the Vikings who bring him back to Norway. The youngest, Erik, is taken in by Queen Alice, who adopts him in the greatest secrecy. Twenty years later, they've grown into battle-trained men, and it won't be long before fate brings the two brothers together...as adversaries.

A year after The Demon's Mask, Mario Bava signs with La Rush of the Vikings an epic fresco in the direct line of Richard Fleischer 's masterpiece, The Vikings. Cameron Mitchell (Six Women for the Assassin) and George Ardisson (A Pretty Body That Must Be Killed) play the two enemy brothers, accompanied by twin sisters Ellen and Alice Kessler (The Magicians). The Rush of the Vikings is an intense adventure film, in which we find all the ingredients of Greek tragedy – a high-flying spectacle masterfully led by Mario Bava .
