Synopsis
Inspector Quennell investigates a series of crimes committed on the moor. He suspects Professor Mallinger, an insect specialist. The latter shelters in his home a young woman who periodically changes into a large butterfly with a death's head, whom he must feed with human blood, and to whom he wants to give a companion.
