Synopsis
Félicien is the baker of Valorgue. His son Justin, who is courting Françoise, the grocer's daughter, has left for military service. Françoise leaves the village and returns after ten months, with a baby in her arms. Félicien refusing to believe in the paternity of his son, draws up the village in two camps: the supporters of the baker, and the supporters of the grocer.
