Synopsis
- Jean de Florette (1986):
In Provence, in the mid-1920s. Near the village of Bastides Blanches, in the hills, live Le Papet and Ugolin, his nephew. Ugolin has a big project: growing carnations. To realize his dream, he covets to acquire a farmhouse whose only wealth is an essential source for his crops. But the farmhouse in question falls in inheritance to a man of the city, Jean de Florette, and his daughter Manon, then eight years old. To achieve his ends, Le Papet hatches a monstrous plan...
- Manon des Sources (1986):
Ten years after the death of her father Jean de Florette, Manon des Sources is a goatherd. For his part, obsessed with his past, Ugolin made his fortune growing carnations with Le Papet. But, for Manon, the hour of revenge has come. By blocking the source that feeds the country, it deprives the inhabitants of the village of water.
