Synopsis
In 1942, forced to leave occupied France, Valentin, who in peacetime was a horticulturist, settled in North Africa where he became an arms trafficker. This is how one night, off the coast of Libya, he rescued a young English officer, Basil, whose plane had been shot down. Back on the coast, arrested by the Italian military police, Valentin and Basil manage to escape with the help of Lorène, the wife of the Consul of Switzerland. Their flight takes them further and further into the southern desert while the two men fall in love with Lorène.
