Synopsis
In 1938, Francis Phelan returned to his native Albany after spending many years wandering as a beggar. After the accidental death of his son for which he feels guilty, and the memory of two men who died by his own hands, Phelan left everything, including his family and his career as a baseball player, to sink into poverty. Around the soup kitchen, he finds Helen who was once his companion in misfortune.
