Synopsis
Back from the army, Hazel Motes returns to her family's abandoned home, determined to claim her rightful place in good society. After meeting Asa Hawks, a blind man who tries to convert his contemporaries to his beliefs, he is haunted by his strange behavior. Hazel decides to counter-attack by also starting to preach by founding a new sect: the church without Christ.
