Synopsis
Anne and Lore are two young teenagers, brought up in a religious boarding school. Daughters of nobles, they devote themselves to various perverse readings, contrary to propriety. By devoting a real cult to Satan, they spread evil around them.
The cult work produced by Joël Séria in 1970. Deemed sulphurous, the film was banned for a few months in France due to its very harsh subject and was even rated X in other countries.
Joël Séria is inspired for his first film by the same news item that inspired Peter Jackson for his film “Célestes Créatures”.
Version restored 4K and digitized with the help of the CNC.
The film was presented at the Directors' Fortnight at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival.
