Synopsis
Inspector Plonche is investigating the suicide of two young people, Catherine Mareuil and Jean Bompart. Jean's father, Auguste, a failed sculptor and alcoholic, explains to him that his son was about to marry Catherine, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist. The latter, big bourgeois, did everything to prevent this union.
